Kirtan

Kirtan is the heart and soul of yoga. Since ‘yoga’ means ‘to connect’, the connection we are talking about here is of ourselves to the Supreme Energy, Who we mainly call “Krishna” but has innumerable other names.

Kirtan allows this connection to happen very easily flooding our lives with joy and a sense of serenity, especially during the time we are in the kirtan, immersed in the sound vibrations.

Kirtan is a Sanskrit word literally meaning ‘to repeat’. One person leads and everyone repeats the mantra, which is projected on the screen.

At the Bhakti Tree, our Friday Fest begins with kirtan – a musical form of call and response mantra meditation accompanied by traditional Indian musical instruments – harmonium, kartal (hand cymbals) and mrdanga (clay drum). We also have a few other instruments that guests can feel free to play in time to the music.

Come and experience the magic every Friday at 6pm. $12 per person on entry. Includes the Bhakti Feast at 7pm. Kids are welcome but we ask that parents supervise them at all times. Children below 10 years $6 per head.
